Moira is a characteristic sleepy Goan village in North Goa close to Mapusa. With its smal lanes, beautiful houses, 17th century churches, paddy fields,and slow winding river and backwaters, it is a glimpse of the Goa that still exists away from the hustle and bustle of the coastal belt.

This heritage Indo-Portuguese residence, built on 4000 sq m of land, stands at the foot of terraced gardens set in a tropical landscape...Built in the 19th century this magnificently restored house consists of 2 lounges, 4 bedrooms with attached bathrooms. All the bedrooms and the common rooms are arranged around an inner courtyard which has a fountain in the centre. The outdoor dining room is on a large covered terrace at the rear of the house looking onto the swimming pool
Quinta Velha is a mixture of contemporary and baroque styles... High ceilings of teak wood and golden and natural wood furniture, mother of pearl shell windows, ornate lights, antique fans, portraits of maharajahs and Venetian mirrors adorn the walls. The inside decoration elegantly harmonizes sophistications and simplicity. This spacious house with its many outdoors spaces and terraces provides privacy and individual space while the communal sitting areas and dining room offer the perfect entertainment areas.
The traditional entrance balcao provides a cool shady introduction to what lies within and the welcoming open door allows a glimpse of the light filled central cloistered courtyard.
Bright with sunlight yet remarkably cool the courtyard is open to the sun and stars. It has a central fountain and the soft murmuring sound of the water provides a constant soothing background y. This space is exquisitely but minimally furnished – a carved chest here, a beautiful Rajasthani sofa there the occasional picture placed just so. Bedrooms. The four extravagantly decorated bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms are individually styled and have been named after the key design element. Bedroom 1
- The “Cristal” Bedroom is the largest with its King size four poster bed. Its elegant bathroom has a large ceiling pendant light and Venetian mirror which inspired its name.There are doors onto the terrace facing the garden Bedroom 2
The “ Golden “ Bedroom is the most romantic, with its Queen size wooden carved bed topped with a decorative canopy . Its spacious bathroom is decorated with large golden mirrors. There is a wood door onto a balcony which is shared with the Topaz bedroom Bedroom 3
The “Topaz” Bedroom is the most colonial with its four poster Queen size bed. its amber walls matching with those of its ornate bathroom. Door onto shared balcony with Golden Bedroom Bedroom 4.
The “Silver” Bedroom has extra large twin beds with Italian style ornate silver bedheads and large wardrobe .Doors onto terrace facing the garden Dining Space
At the rear of the house looking onto the swimming pool is a superb outdoor dining room. This is fully furnished and has been laid out, with a capacity to welcome 12 persons. This is perfect for special occasions - candlelit suppers and dining in the grand style. Sitting Rooms.
The two sitting rooms are situated either side of the entrance hall. These are bright and spacious rooms. Delicate lace and chiffon curtains float in the breeze, lending an aura of Indian royalty. There are antique wooden doors with shell glass opening onto the terraces giving a refreshing breeze and giving views of the beautiful landscape.
The smaller sitting room has a television (cable and satellite). The larger sitting room has a long sofa, fireside chairs and baroque chairs. There are a variety of smaller tables that can be set up according to the requirements of the group. Terraces.
There are wide terraces on three sides of the house which are furnished with armchairs, sofas and small tables and smaller balcony
The Office. This is furnished with colonial antiques and ancient maps, with its ventilator and its old-fashioned safe, takes you to another era, at the same time allows you to connect to the Web The Kitchen.
This is contemporary tastefully decorated and yet functional room It is well equipped with all modern kitchen equipment. . Its permanently open doors may tempt you to don our chef’s cap and cook yourself a delightful meal. It’s all up to you! The Massage room.
