The balcao has bench seats along both sides and is wide enough to accommodate a table for those al fresco meals.
Casa Sofia can be found along a small residential lane in Parra village surrounded by orchards, wooded hillside and paddy fields and is the house to choose if you want to sample the relaxed atmosphere of country life. The house is named after the owners mother who lives in the family house opposite. She is famous for her Goan cooking and is the "Sofia" featured in Madhur Jaffreys BBC series and cookbook "Flavour of India". You never know, she may be persuaded to share her recipes with you.
It is a rural area and tourist hotels are unknown here although the very popular beaches and restaurants of Anjuna, Baga and Calangute are no more than 10 minutes drive away. So that you can take full advantage of this delightful rural location, we provide a car and driver in the price of your holiday for your exclusive use. All you pay for is the petrol you use.
The house is set in its own private walled garden and there is a rear gate leading into the orchards. The owner is a keen gardener and has taken much pride in creating a garden filled with tropical plants. There is even a hammock for lazy afternoons and a barbecue for "at home " evenings. There are wonderful early morning walks on the hills - a birdwatchers delight.
